The first time we met this amazing couple in person was for their engagement session at King Family Vineyards. We had plans to spend some time at the vineyard and then move along to Skyline Drive for some photos with scenic views. We ended up revising our plans a little bit, and dealt with a brief moment of "pay the fee or you can't shoot here" which we happily paid, and decided to skip Skyline Drive and stick with the venue we were already at. Little did we know this go-with-the-flow situation was just a pregame to what 2020 would end up looking like.
When the lock-downs and state executive orders began, I remember thinking that although our April and May weddings were effected, there was no way our June weddings would be. Then it happened. We heard from this beautiful couple that they would be pushing their wedding date to next year. A smart idea in order to have the full wedding experience they had been planning for so long. Still wanting to tie the knot and make it official this year, they decided to have a small, intimate wedding ceremony at their venue, Grace Estate Winery in Crozet, Va. I am so glad they decided to make us a part not only of their big event, but the small intimate ceremony as well. It was a lovely day, full of laughing, crying (the good kind!) and so much joy. If anything, it was a great way to prepare for next year, when we celebrate the long awaited BIG day!

Eric made the whole groom thing look GOOD!

I'm convinced that only the most stunning brides come our way. Erika looked absolutely perfect on her wedding day, and the camera couldn't get enough of her.

Our grandparents play such huge roles in our lives and provide us with tremendous amounts of love. In this moment, it overwhelmed Erika just a bit and she had to look away. So did I!

Eric beamed as Erika walked up, and we still can't get over the joy!

This look here represents why we do what we do. The huge amounts of emotion that people feel on this special day need to be remembered, relived, shared...and that is why we have our cameras!

Once we got formals out of the way, we cracked bottles and started the party right there in the field!

We eventually got our quiet time with the newlyweds and it was absolutely beautiful. Naturals in front of the camera and with each other, these two and their amazing love made taking their photos all the more special. We are over the moon for these two and are honored that we get to document them.
